How to get 500 items from a datasource and refresh with another 500 items with a different range?

I want to use the limits imposed by PowerApps but I need to lookup data in a table with more than 500 items.  The data source itself does not return more than 500 items.

How in the world do I look item 501?  This should be normal for any app.

There is no record limit for the datasource.  The record limit in PowerApps only is about how many records can be returned with a single call from PowerApps to the datasource.

So, LookUp(yourList, ID=501) will return that record with no issue.

However, based on the subject of your post, this seems like not what you are looking for.  Your post description didn't describe the subject too well...could you expand on it?

I had to step back and watch a video... booo....  🙂

I had to learn that different datasources, functions and operators all act different depending on the datasource... aka delegation or whatever it is..  

So now I have a working example of a slider that is used in a collection and that value is used in the combo box... it sort of works... I'm looking for a better way...

Yes, what you can get from a datasource is going to always depend on delegation.

I am not sure I am understanding what you mean about a slider in a collection!!??

If you could explain a little more, perhaps I could provide a better way.

A combobox can have much more than 500 records in it.  It is a dropdown that is limited to 500.

I think I'm realizing in my other data set there are similar records for customer.  This would allow me to filter the items to a limited data set.

If I add a SharePoint datasource with 1000 items and use that in a Combo Box I get 500 items.

So far the only way I've gotten it to do more was to change the Items to be filtered in some fashion.

So far my answer has been a textbox and StartWith()

The reason you only get 500 records is because your Record Limit in your app is most likely set to 500.

That will always be the maximum you get.  The Dropdown is limited to 500 in general (even if your app limit is more).

The Combobox will display beyond that, but what you are dealing with is not a limit of the Combobox, but the record limit for your app.

If you have a Customers list is 1000 records, then change your Record Limit in the app to 1000 (or up to 2000) and you will see all of them in the Combobox.
