How to only update changed data

I am using a form (EditForm1). my data is coming from excel. when i find a entry that needs to be changed I click into the edit form and make the change. I save and it updates the excel document, but it also changes all the other fields. 

1. How do I have my edit screen default to blank

2. How do I get only the fields I changed to update

right now when i go into the edit screen it doesnt show what the current entry.

1. To get only the fields you changed to update, you will need to use a patch function. The patch function updates a record in a data source with new values, but only updates the fields that have changed. To use a patch function, add a button to your edit form and set its OnSelect property to a formula like the following:

Patch(DataSource, Lookup(DataSource, ID = EditForm1.ID), EditForm1.Updates)

In this formula, replace "DataSource" with the name of your Excel data source, "ID" with the name of the unique identifier field in your data source, and "EditForm1.Updates" with the name of the Edit form's Updates property. To show the current entry when you open the edit form, you can set the form's Item property to the selected record. To do this, set the Item property of your Edit form to a formula like the following:

Gallery1.Selected

In this formula, replace "Gallery1" with the name of the gallery that displays the records you want to edit. This will ensure that the selected record is displayed in the Edit form when you click on it.

I am sorry I do not understand what you mean by unique identifier. I have the form have onSelect button for the submit. So it goes here?

It already is but set to this but it doesnt show the current selections from the document.

The unique identifier would be your ID column

Ok, I think i misunderstood.  

Ok so try this, add a gallery, set its items to the excel table you are trying to edit, enter which ever details you want to display as standard

With your form, set its data source to your table; Then on the items of your form, set it to Gallery.Selected. This will auto-populate all fields in your form with the details of your desired item. Then you can edit the details you need and use SubmitForm(Form) to just change the field you have edited.

Ignore this JohnM86, i didnt realize you meant I needed to change it in the individual entries. This is good now.
