Invalid argument type (Record) excpecting a boolean value instead

Hi Guys,

I am using the following formula to look up a list names "Site Inductions" and if in a row of that list the text in Datacardvalue7 and datacardvalue8 match then submit form. I get the above error, there are no errors if I don't use the If.

The location of the formula is the Onselct of a button.

If (LookUp ('Site Inductions', DataCardValue7.Text = ThisRecord.Title && DataCardValue8.Text = ThisRecord.'Company Name'), SubmitForm(Sign_In_Form))

Any help would be appreciated

@BCBuizer I had thought about that but the issue there is that they could just pick anyone from the dropdown meaning there is no real validation.

Hi @jbrines,

In that case, what is the context of the button? I see the OnSelect property refers to ThisItem or ThisRecord, so is the button in a gallery or a form? A screenshot may help.

First of all many thanks for the help with this.

Below is a couple of screenshots. I have two buttons, 1st one is the original that just submits the form. The second one (blue) is the one I am trying to do what we are discussing on here (validating the Name and Company Name.

Below should normally do what you are asking? I'm not sure why you would be using ThisRecord to filter the table.

If(CountRows(Filter(DataSource,Name = "Value1")) > 0,"Exist","Does Not Exist")

So in your case

If(CountRows(Filter('Site Inductions',Title= DataCardValue7.Text And CompanyName = DataCardValue8.Text)) > 0,SubmitForm(Sign_In_Form),Navigate("Other Screen"))

@Anthony_Dob Thanks again. As I mentioned near the start of my post is that I get a delegation warning. How many rows before delegation becomes an issue, we should have in the region of 400 rows in the Site Induction list.

By default delegation is set to 500 Records. You can up this to 2000 record in your canvas app settings:

	Navigate("Other Screen")
)

Hi @BCBuizer That formula still submits the form if the person isn't in the Site Induction List so isn't working.
