Make icon on gallery record visible if gallery value exists in another table

Hi all,

I'm finishing up an app however I have one last thing to fix and I can't seem to get around it.

I have a gallery called "UDev" where the field "Dev" is my main identifier. I then have an icon inside the gallery that only should be visible if this the same ID value exists in another column with the same name (Dev) but inside another table that is called "Res". It seems that this should not be that hard. However I can't seem to get around it... Both of the columns/fields are of type text.

Can anyone help out with this?

@AndLun If the Control is inside a Gallery you must probably use ThisItem and a column inside it to LookUp a corresponding record from another Table (e.g. another SharePoint List if using SharePoint) based on the value of the column of ThisItem.

e.g. Visible property of the Image control

!IsBlank(LookUp(SomeOtherTable,ID=ThisItem.ID))

If you need assistance from the formula bar when making these formulas, such as to hover over parts of the formula bar to know the values, you can't do that from any formula that is inside the Gallery Control.

Temporarily try it from outside the Gallery on the First() record of the Gallery only if you need this information:

//test from a Control's Visible property that is outside the Gallery temporarily to hover over parts of the formula bar and see the values of things.
!IsBlank(LookUp(SomeOtherTable,ID=First(Gallery.AllItems).ID))

ThisRecord, ThisItem etc. are using scope and may always show "This formula uses scope, which is not presently supported for evaluation" when you try to hover over the formula bar when using these kinds of formulas.

Unless you already know the value of every part of your formula without any assistance from the formula bar, the above temporary formula from a Control outside the Gallery, is the only way to be able to hover over the formula bar and see something other than "This formula uses scope, which is not presently supported for evaluation".

@AndLun

Visible property of icon: !IsBlank(Lookup(Res, IDval=ThisItem.IDval))

Thank you! The first formula of yours did the trick, can't imagine why I had such a hard time finding the way for that. Thanks again!!
