Hi!
This topic seems to be a never ending story.... I am sorry for that.
I have problems with my Abteilung Wunschressource (text column) and Wunschressource (People picker column) columns.
I created a collection using this function
NewForm('Form Neu');;
ClearCollect(
Items;ForAll(Sequence(5);
{
LineTitelTätigkeit: "Titel Tätigkeit";
LineProjekttyp: "R&D";
LinePrio: "Prio 1";
LineStatus: "Offen";
LineWunschressource: glbEmptyPerson;
LineAbteilungWunschressource: "";
LineAbteilung: "";
LineGJ21Q1APV:0;LineGJ21Q2APV: 0;
LineGJ21Q3APV: 0;
LineGJ21Q4APV: 0;
LineGJ22Q1APV: 0;
LineGJ22Q2APV: 0;
LineGJ22Q3APV: 0;
LineGJ22Q4APV: 0;
LineGJ23Q1APV: 0;
LineGJ23Q2APV: 0;
LineGJ23Q3APV: 0;
LineGJ23Q4APV: 0;
LineGJ24Q1APV: 0;
LineGJ24Q2APV: 0;
LineGJ24Q3APV: 0;

LineGJ26Q1APV: 0;
LineGJ26Q2APV: 0;
LineGJ26Q3APV: 0;
LineGJ26Q4APV: 0
}
))
To submit my form and gallery to my SharePoint List i use this:
SubmitForm('Form Neu');;ForAll(
'Gallery Neues Arbeitspaket Tätigkeit'.AllItems;
Patch(
'3400 ILLU Arbeitspakete O3.4';
Defaults('3400 ILLU Arbeitspakete O3.4');
{
Title: 'Input Titel Tätigkeit'.Text;
Projekttyp: 'Input Projekttyp'.Selected;

MasterID: 'Form Neu'.LastSubmit.ID};If(
!IsBlank('Input Wunschressource');
{Wunschressource: 'Input Wunschressource'.Selected};
{})
))
so all works except my Wunschressource Input and therefore my Abteilung Wunschressource Input is empty. Those rows will not be submitted to my SharePoint.
i would be very grateful for your help!
thank you very much!
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you are choosing the name in the people picker, firstly set the Formula Level Error Management in your Advanced Settings to on, then do this at screen OnVisible
UpdateContext(
{
varBlankP:
{
Claims:Blank(),
Department:Blank(),
DisplayName:Blank(),
Email:Blank(),
JobTitle:Blank(),
Picture:Blank()
}
}
)
you would then do something like this for the Patch area
Wunschressource:
If(
!IsBlank(Input Wunschressource'.Selected.DisplayName),
{
Claims:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Claims,
Department:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Department,
DisplayName:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.DisplayName,
Email:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Email,
JobTitle:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.JobTitle,
Picture:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Picture
},
varBlankP
)
Note this is a workaround as it really should Patch with what you have.

Here is some more info if needed 🙂
Hi @Jasmin_Sch ,
Person fields are not the best idea at times when dealing with Power Apps (I have a blog on this), but they are complex field types and need their elements specified - note the "odata" line may not be necessary now due to some recent changes by MS
Wunschressource:
{
'@odata.type':"#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedUser",
Claims:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Claims,
Department:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Department,
DisplayName:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.DisplayName,
Email:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Email,
JobTitle:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.JobTitle,
Picture:'Input Wunschressource'.Selected.Picture
}

@WarrenBelz thank you very much!
I used your function and it still submits the row only if Wunschressource is not empty.
so I tried to combine the function but there are still errors ... can you tell me what my mistake is

There is actually an easier way to solve this.
Let's say you have a column called FirstPersonColumn
Just put another column on your list called BlankPerson and make it a people picker field (you would never use this column, its always blank). Then just patch your first people picker column to the BlankPerson value
UpdateContext({_loc_blankPerson:Lookup('YourList',ID = <ID OF ITEM>, BlankPerson)});
Patch('YOURLIST' ,LookUp('YOURLIST',ID = <ID OF ITEM>),
{
'FirstPersonColumn': _loc_blankPerson
});
This also works for multi-people picker too, your BlankPerson column just needs to also be Multi Select 😉 so, you can just have 2 blank PeoplePicker columns, 1 for single, 1 for multi
Bam!
