Powerapp not submitting all information on form to sharepoint list

Hi, I added a field on the form as I wanted to capture who was submitting the form. I set the field to default to the current user. However when the form is submitted everything except that field goes to the sharepoint list. What am I missing?

current default on person submitting field is office365users.userprofile(user().email)

First, your OnSelect on the button should ONLY be SubmitForm(form1)  Anything after that is not guaranteed to be done prior to the SubmitForm completing as it will occur asynchronously. 

Anything you want done AFTER successfully submitting should be in the OnSuccess action of the form.  So, move the NewForm statement to the OnSuccess action formula so that you do not frustrate your users by blanking out all they just entered regardless of success or failure (in other words, if the submit fails, your formula will blank everything out before the user even knows.)

As for the new column/field - how did you add the field to the form?  What kind of column is the field in your datasource?  What is the Update property of the DataCard for that field?

@Taishala @If you are using SharePoint as a data source there is already a column CreatedBy which will auto populate the user who created the item. No need to capture this manually. This would only make sense when you want to be able to edit this field afterwards.

The new field was pulled in from the sharepoint list data source that is attached to the form. The data source property on the list is people/group

the update value is currently DatacardValue9.Selected

And what kind of column is this in your SharePoint list?

The sharepoint list is populated by the powerapp and does not have a created by field and does not provide that information

That is not possibel. Every List item in SharePoint does have a CreatedBy column. It might not be shown on your view. On the SharePoitn View click add column --> show or hide field --> select created by

Or in PowerApps Edit the Form Fields and add the column "Created By"
