Hi,

Sorry thought I had,  Sorry if I'm confusing the matter

The scenario is that the supervisor can select a number of people who may have an exemption to having a meeting but the exemption reason can be a different.  So instead of adding them one by one the group exemption table is used.

When I try and use 'DisplayName' the option does not appear after ThisItem??
I've tried this formula {'Display Name':ThisItem.IsSelected} and get no error??  But still the name disappears when selecting Add New Person icon

What would you use for this scenario??

@ClarkyPA365 ,

Updating a Person field when you have changed the built-in settings on the control is a bit of a challenge. You also need the email address of the person and it looks something like this (rough structure only)

{
   '@odata.type': "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.SharePoint.SPListExpandedReference",
   Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & Lower(YourPersonEmailHere),
   Department: "",
   DisplayName: ComboStaffName.Selected.DisplayName,
   Email: YourPersonEmailHere,
   JobTitle: "",
   Picture: ""
}

Honestly, throw the field away and patch to a Text field - your life will be far easier.

Hi,

So this will be part of the Collect formula for ExemptionItems?

Also I require the email of the individual to be able to send them an approval email via Flow.
Would the 'YourPersonalEmailHere' still be valid??

Replace the 'Staff Name;' portion with

Hi,

How would i do that??

@ClarkyPA365 ,

That is the Patch to the field structure. As I said, please consider simply writing to a Text field - you can use the Office365Users Connector in Power Apps if you want any further details of the person, but you need those details to update the field.

Hi Warren,

I'm getting slightly confused, as you may have gathered🤔  How do I just write to a text field when requiring multiple names??

I'm using the Office365Connector and using Text boxes to gather additional information such as Email, Department, Job Title.

ClarkyPA365_0-1650447348938.png

I need the combobox  to gather a group of names who may have different reason as to why they cannot make the conversation.

The text boxes hopefully will change to the relevant information to the person selected.

So in the 'Patch' formula for the the Add New Person I need to add the '@OData......

@ClarkyPA365 ,

Yes - as per the Patch code I posted. Sorry, but I have a complete dislike of these fields and do not use them, so I am not the best person to debug any issues beyond the structure I posted. As I mentioned, you need the person's full name and email address to write to the field.

Hi,

Would you be able to show how you would perform this task your way??

@ClarkyPA365 ,

Just use a Text field to store the user's email address. You can then get the rest of the information in Power Apps using the Office365Users connector. You can of course patch to the Person field, you just need all the relevant information as set out.

Hi Warren,

Sorry to be a right pain in the rear but I'm trying to understand.

I've looked at one of your previous answers to what I believe is a similar issue

ClarkyPA365_0-1650527445514.png

I'm unable to get the 'Result' part of the formula is just doesn't show??

 and not getting very far.

The names just change to the last name entered??
