Set the dropdown value in second screen

Hi all,

I am new to power apps. while i am developing i tried to achieve this but it is not working,

Basically we are using two screens, User select the request type in screen1 then navigate to screen2.

I need to set the drop-down (which is in screen2) based on button click in screen1.

SharePoint is the back-end system.

Any suggestions,

Thanks for the screenshot. So because you are using a combobox instead of a dropdown, you should use the DefaultSelectedItems property instead of the Default property.

Put this in the DefaultSelectedItems property of your combobox:

varRequestType

The problem now should be the lookup is not getting any record. I noticed something in your collection/data source named SchedulingChangeMgmt, what is the column type of Request_x0020_Status ? Is it a choice column? a lookup column?

Also please try to highlight the whole Lookup formula and see if it returns anything. You can see the attached screenshots for a sample.

That column in SP list is choice type.

Can you let me know what the button is on the first screen?  It appears in your pictures that it is in a Gallery.

So my suggestion, based on the Image you provided:

Is to get rid of the three separate buttons and add a vertical blank gallery in place of them.

Let's call it galleryRequestType.

Set the Items property to: Choices(yourList.yourChoiceColumnName)

In the Gallery, place a button. In the OnSelect of the button: Select(Parent)

In the OnSelect of the Gallery: Navigate(FormScreen1)

In the Dropdown in your form, set the DefaultSelectedItems property of the Request Type combobox to:

   Coalesce(Parent.Default,

         {Value: galleryRequestType.Selected.Value}
   )

That should give you what you want.
