Trouble displaying default values with combobox

Hello,

I have an app in which I have a hidden "popup" dialog box that is visible once a button is clicked. Inside this popup window, I have a combobox, which is also part of a gallery. For this Combobox, I would like to display one or more default values, based on what is stored in a local collection being used in the gallery. 

Here is a rundown:

1. I have a collection called "DeliverableResults". One of the columns in this collection is titled "ResponsibleParty". When the popup window is displayed on the screen, the app accesses the associated record in the gallery by capturing the value in the "title" column in the collection 

Set(docName, ThisItem.Title)

2. The "DefaultSelectedItems" property of the Combobox is set to:

Filter(DeliverableResults, Title=docName, ResponsibleParty)

3. There is also a "Reset" variable specified in the ComboBox's reset property that gets activated or deactivated when certain buttons are clicked, but so far this has no effect.

I have also tried using ShowColumns with a test button to create a table which ONLY contains the "ResponsibleParty" column, and setting the default value to that, but still nothing.

Can anybody offer insight as to why this isn't working? Please let me know if you would like more information and I would be happy to provide it. Thanks!

Your DefaultSelectedItems (DSI) property needs to provide a record or table (if multiple selections are enabled) that matches the Items property schema exactly.

What is the Items property of the combobox and what is its schema?

If it is DeliverableResults as the Items, then you need to provide a proper Filter formula for DSI.  It would be:

Filter(DeliverableResults, Title=docName)

Thanks for providing input. 

The Items property of the combobox is set to another collection called roles. Roles is a one-column table with 16 records, which are all text values. 

In the "ResponsibleParty" column of DeliverableResults, the only values possible are values that match one of the records in Roles, so my thinking is that DSI would pick that up and display the correct default value.  I have tried creating a separate table containing only the values which would be input into DSI using the following:

Set(test, ShowColumns(Filter(DeliverableResults, Title=docName), "ResponsibleParty"));

I then tried setting the DSI to "test", but this does not work either.

What is the name of the column in the roles table?  That needs to match.

Don't bother with variables for this...you don't need them.

So, if for example, you have a column called "Role" in your roles table, then your DSI would be:

ForAll(Filter(DeliverableResults, Title=docName), {Role: ResponsibleParty})

This is assuming that the value in ResponsibleParty is going to be the same as the value in Role in the table.

The above will provide a table to the DSI that has a column called Role (to match the Items property schema) with the values you want.
