Using a button to update Date Time

So I want to just add a plus and minus button for the quantity field.  I just can't get it to work and I've been modeling it from this post https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/and-Button-to-add-and-subtract-from-a-Quantit....  No matter how I change the syntax, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. 

Backround on data:

Orignally I had everyting in an SP list.  I ended up fining out I couldn't use the search function with SP lists in order to use the textsearchbox to search more fields.  With SP lists I was only able to get filter to work and at that, filter is only good for searching one column.  At any rate.  I ended up exporting the SP list data to an excel file on my local drive.  From there I used the "excel static data" upload function.  I found out that my lists are still being updated even though I'm using the data pulled from a static excel sheet that's pulling data from the list.  I hope that gives enough information to get this bad boy tackled.  Thanks guys.

Try changing your formula to this:

Patch(inventoryserver, ThisItem, {Quantity : ThisItem.Quantity +1})

On your background info - both Filter and Search are perfectly capable of being used on many columns at once.  If you decide to move back to SharePoint and want to resolve that issue, just post a message in this forum.

Okay I still can't get this to work.  The data is coming from the static excel sheet.  I couldn't get it to work with that hence the reason I was trying the source of that excel's data.  I.E. "inventoryserver"

Patch(inventoryserver, ThisItem, {Quantity: ThisItem.Quantity + 1})

Do you want to use button to control the item's Quantity to add or sub?
