Value of variable on label won't show up

I'm having trouble getting a label to show the value of a variable. In the picture below you can see the label - it is set up show a string of text followed by a counter of how many rows are in a table ("varCountRowsAlle"):

The variable is set up in the OnVisible property of the screen with the following formula: 

Set(varCountRowsAlle, CountRows(Transportblanket))

For some reason beyond my understanding, PowerApps takes issue with this formula and does not calculate the value. Therefore it cannot pass it onto where the variable is called. So I tried with a local variable instead:

UpdateContext({varCountRowsAlle: CountRows(Transportblanket)})

This doesn't work either, unfortunately. Previously I had the "CountRows(Transportblanket)" nested in the label itself and that worked fine (still got a delegation warning, but the amount of rows in the SP list in question is not and will not be an issue). 

Neither versions produce error messages - they just don't work. I was hoping someone in here could enlighten me as to why that might be?

Change your Label text property to the following:

"ALLE (" & CountRows(Transportblanket) & ")"

 Not sure where or when you are setting a variable, but you really don't need a variable.  You can simply put it in your label.

If you want to get rid of the delegation warning, set your Text property to the following:

"ALLE (" & Len(Concat(Transportblanket, Left(Title,1))) & ")"

Simply make the Text property of your button

Concatenate(
    "ALLE ( ",
    Text(CountRows(Transportblanket)),
    ")"
)

No need for a variable on this. It will simply evaluate whenever the form/control is shown.

Sometimes with using Numbers you have to tell it that it is a value. I'm not certain where you would put it exactly based on what I see but I would use: 

Set(varCountRowsAlle, Value(CountRows(Transportblanket)))

Then select View/Variables and make sure it shows a value for that. I'm not really understanding what your trying to achieve here though so it could be another issue (that is just a common one I have). You want it to show the number of items in a gallery in the label? And is the gallery on a different screen or the same one? Keep in mind you can use Count() and look directly to your data source instead of the gallery itself also, that might work better.

@rebeccas @GarethPrisk @RandyHayes Thank you all for the replies. I will test out your suggestions to see if they are better than what I came up with, but it does seem as though the issue has resolved itself by me restarting the computer (and browser/session). My variables now work and show the values as I originally intended.

@RandyHayes : Initially, I was using the formula that is your first suggestion but this did not update automatically when I tested the app on my phone, only in the browser. Hence, why I moved on to setting it up as a variable. I assumed this was because the label control was static somehow, or only refreshed upon starting the app. I might give it a go with the Len/Left combo (clever, that).

@GarethPrisk: I'll give your suggestion a spin and see what turns up. I haven't had luck getting the CountRows to evaluate whenever the control is shown or reevaluate upon changes to the amount of rows that it is counting (live, as it were). 

@rebeccas Thank you for the suggestion, and the tip. I will try it out if containing the function to the label itself turns out to be not doable or unsatisfying in end-user testing. The reference to "Transportblanket" is not to a gallery but a connected sharepoint list. Put simply, I want to highlight for the user how many tasks are left for them in the given list - ie. how many items are left in the SP list. Additionally I want this formula to run whenever the screen is shown or, alternatively, when a change is made to the list. The latter might lead me to creating a separate flow, which I think might be a step too far for such a simple functionality.

@GarethPrisk I've ended up taking a cue from your proposed solution:

"ALLE " & If(CountRows(Transportblanket)=0, " ", "(" & Text(CountRows(Transportblanket)) &")")

I edited this to include the removal of the appended "Parenthesis-Value-EndParenthesis" part if the calculated value is zero, i.e. if the list is empty. So kudo's to you (and to @RandyHayes) for questioning the need to set up variables - local or otherwise. Placing the calculation directly into the label control somehow appears less intensive, and produces a result quicker - and it just looks more neat from a UX perspective. So thanks!
