based up on the column email powerapps screen needs to open

Hello Everyone,

This is making me crazy since three weeks. I am trying to acheieve below scenario. Can anyone please help me?

I created a list with two columns. One for "employeeemail" and the other one called "Manageremail". Both are single line of text fields.

I connected this list called "emaillist" to my powerApp.

Based up on the user who tried to access the powerapp, it should navigate him/her to the respective screen. EX: if user is in "employeeemail" column then he will be directed to "employeehomescreen" and if the user is in "Manageremail" column then the user will be directed to "managerhomescreen".

on my App → onAppStart → I have added below code

If(User().Email in EmailList.ManagerEmail,Navigate(ManagerHomeScreen,ScreenTransition.None),User().Email in EmailList.EmployeeEmail,Navigate(EmpHomescreen,ScreenTransition.None))

"However, whatever I try I am always landing on ManagerHomescreen even my emailID is under "employeeemail" column. "

ANy suggestions on how to achieve this?

 Hi @RandyHayes ,

WOW! brilliant, it's workin finally.

Thanks a lot for your quick help.

I like the idea of allowing all the employees instead of cehcking the column and if it the manager then navigate to manager screen .

How can I do that. Can I just use in this way?

If(
   !IsBlank(Lookup(EmailList, ManagerEmail = User().Email).ManagerEmail),
      Navigate(ManagerHomeScreen, ScreenTransition.None),
      Navigate(EmpHomescreen, ScreenTransition.None)
)

Glad it is working now!

Yes, that formula should do the trick for you.

Feel free to post if you have any other questions.

thanks @RandyHayes for all your help.

Sorry I have one more issue.

for managerlanding screen, I created a gallery with filter and it showing as per the filter.

But for employee landingscreen it is showing wrong items which are created by a manager one, instead os showing up with employee one.

Filter(EmployeePerformance,'Created By'.Email=User().Email)

@rajkumar88

Is that filter formula the one that has the problem?  It appears to be properly done.

But, I see nothing in that formula that would take into account anything to do with managers or employees.  Your formula states to show any record in EmployeePreformance that was created by ('Created by'.Email) the current user (User()).

So, I'm not sure where you are expecting to limit this in a different way.

I am not limiting anything. you are right. FIlter is showing wrong items. It is showing the items that are created by my admin account instead of the items that are created by a test account. For that test user instead of showing his items, it is showing my admin items. And when I verfy the sharepoint list, it does show properly that it was created by test user only.

Not sure why it is showing in that way though

@rajkumar88

I believe what you are saying and that the formula is doing as expected.  It is showing the records that were created by the current user.  If you are that current user as you are designing this, then it will be showing you all the records that were created by you.  If you run this under another account, it should be showing only the records created by that account.

Keep in mind that the Created By column is "as SharePoint recorded it".  Whoever created that actual record is who is recorded in the Created By.  You cannot alter that column.

totally with you. Issue is that for the test user instead of showing his/her records it is showing "admin" user who created the lin items. BUt there are two items created by this "test users" and it is not showing up. There might be an issue with gallery itself. I will delete and re-add it and see if it reflects right filtering items

@rajkumar88

One other item to attempt, just because *sometimes* it causes a little issue...

Put a formula in your App OnStart like this:

   Set(userInfo, User())

Then in your filter, use 'Created by'.Email = userInfo.Email instead.  Probably not at issue, but it is good practice with the User() function.

thanks @RandyHayes . I amde the changes but the filter is showing wrong details. not sure why. but I will try other methods too

@rajkumar88

For testing, you might want to hard-code in some email addresses in that filter and then double check them against the created by column in the list.
