based up on the column email powerapps screen needs to open

Hello Everyone,

This is making me crazy since three weeks. I am trying to acheieve below scenario. Can anyone please help me?

I created a list with two columns. One for "employeeemail" and the other one called "Manageremail". Both are single line of text fields.

I connected this list called "emaillist" to my powerApp.

Based up on the user who tried to access the powerapp, it should navigate him/her to the respective screen. EX: if user is in "employeeemail" column then he will be directed to "employeehomescreen" and if the user is in "Manageremail" column then the user will be directed to "managerhomescreen".

on my App → onAppStart → I have added below code

If(User().Email in EmailList.ManagerEmail,Navigate(ManagerHomeScreen,ScreenTransition.None),User().Email in EmailList.EmployeeEmail,Navigate(EmpHomescreen,ScreenTransition.None))

"However, whatever I try I am always landing on ManagerHomescreen even my emailID is under "employeeemail" column. "

ANy suggestions on how to achieve this?

Can I ask you one last favour. I know helped me alot. I am trying to fix the filter. My filter has two button, one for "reviewed" and one for "pending" . If click on "reviewed" then it should show items based up on Managerstatus=Reviewed items. "managerstatus" is an column. like wise pendingtoo.

for bothe the button I made "onselect property" lieke this.

Reviewed:   UpdateContext({currentselected:"Reviewed"})

Pending :   UpdateContext({currentselected:"Pending"})

Items needs to displayed based up on the selected buttons.

ANy thoughts on this

That's going to depend on what kind of columns the ManagerStatus and the Pending are.  Are they text columns or Yes/No columns, or Choice columns?

If I understand you correctly then, you have one column called Managerstatus which is a choice column that has two choices available - "Reviewed", "Pending".

You have two buttons that change the screen context variable "currentselected" with text values based on the type of button pressed.

In that case, your formula would look something like this:

Filter(EmployeePerformance,
       'Created By'.Email=User().Email &&
       Switch(currentselected,
           "Reviewed", Managerstatus.Value = "Reviewed", 
           "Pending", Managerstatus.Value = "Pending",
           false)
      )

Please observe the case of the two text strings highlighted in red above - they need to match your choices defined in the column exactly.

The above formula will only return results based on the currentselected context variable.  If you want results to return if that variable has no value (i.e. no one has pressed a button), then change the false highlighted in blue to true.

do you rememebr when we did filter based up on buttons. is it possibel to do simialr stuff using radio buttons?

I have create a radio button ["Pending","Review"]

On onselect property I can use something like UpdateContext({currentselected:"Pending" &"Reviewed"}) ??

Yes, but you really don't need a variable for this (or many other things).

In the case for the Radio control, you can simply reference it as yourRadioControl.Selected.Value

So, for example:

Switch(yourRadioControl.Selected.Value,
    "Pending",  doSomethingHere,
    "Review",  doSomethingHere
)

Unless you have a real need for a variable, you're just adding overhead to your app to hang on the OnSelect action and create variables.

Also, I might add, the above is much easier to determine "where the data is coming from - what control produces these values?"  If there was a variable there, you'd have to hunt down where the variable is assigned the value so you can figure out what it might be.  In the above, there is no question...the value comes from the yourRadioControl control.

Just sayin... 😕
