patch of an item impacts the whole gallery

Hi Community,

I’m working on an app that gather items for weekly review from a SPO list.

1. user can view items in gallery
2. he can update text in the gallery items
3. he can remove items from the gallery by clicking the  x next to the Weekly label, which will update the SPO using a patch formula: Patch('VP weekly status',ThisItem,{'Weekly?':"No"})
4. if textual changes were made he save it once by clicking the Save Item button

my problem is that if user change text in few items, than decide to remove another item from the gallery, before he saved changes, than all items will revert back to the original text once x is clicked.

what did i missed?

will appreciate any help.

Is your gallery Data Source a collection or pointed directly to the source data?

My data source is the spo list, not a collection.

What I would do would be to employ the use of variables that are set when an field is changed and then set back when the item is saved, to control the visibility or display mode of the 'x' icon and only allow it to be visible/enabled when all changes have been saved.

But the user can review list of 10 items for the first one he can add some text for the second do nothing and the third he want to remove and so on.

I don't want to tell him to review all items update the fields and save it and than start review again to remove other items.

You said it's causing problems to allow that.   If you don't save the changes and then you perform another action, I don't know of a way to keep the unsaved changes.   Someone else might have a better answer, but I don't.

Actually there is a way, but it depends on what else you might have set in the default property of the fields.   You could set a variable for each field in the OnChange property and set your default property to the variable value.

You will have to reset the variable on save each time.   Depending on how many fields you have that could get cumbersome, but it's a way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

I don't think, however, that this is a good practice to make all sorts of changes and not save them before moving on to another item.

Your patch is causing the Gallery items to re-evaluate.  What is the Items property for the Gallery?

the formula checks :

1. if the user rqeuested to take basline from previous week or older week
2. filter:
   1.  if items is highlight
   2. match the selected account
   3. match the selected week
   4. for basline from previous week it is also evaluating trthe field 'Weekly?'=Yes

1) What is Txt_WeekVal?

2) What kind of column is Week?

3) What is LB_AccountVal?
