populate a drop or combox box from a people picker column

Hi all,

I am creating an app using an SP list I have been asked to search my gallery using a combo box populating from the people column

Can anyone guide me in the right direction please? So the plan would be all the names in the combo box , you click on a name and the gallery filters.

Hi @Anonymous ,

If this would be my comboBox datasource:

Table(
        {
            Title: "Afgewezen",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.Declined
        },
        {
            Title: "Goedgekeurd",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.Approved
        },
        {
            Title: "In behandeling",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.'On Report'
        }
        ,
        {
            Title: "Betaald",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.Paid
        }
        ,
        {
            Title: "Waarschuwing",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.Warning
        }
        ,
        {
            Title: "Gewijzigd",
            Status: 'Choice Reimburse status'.Edited
        }
    )

Then you would filter your gallery:

Filter(
        'Reimbursement - 67ters',
        'Reimburse status' = comboReimbursementStatus.Selected.Status
)

Best Regards,

Anthony

@Anonymous

Is your list Owner a table? If it is you can use the following:

As datasource for your combobox: your table name. For example: "Owner"

As gallery Datasource: Filter(Owner,displayName=ComboBox1.Selected.displayName)

Best Regards,

Anthony

No, its a list item(People or Group) in a SharePoint list.

You can replace the Datasource of the comboBox by the name of your Sharepoint List (make sure to connect to it).
Then filter your gallery with the formula I gave you and change the tablename also also with the Sharepoint List name.

Please Provide me  screenshots of the sharepoints list you want to put in the ComboBox and the sharepoint list you wish to filter on please.

Hi Anthony,

It's just one list I am using with my canvas app and its called 'trackerlog' My dropdown is connected to my list but I cann't see owner as something I can use for the value, (I can see other fields) I think because its a people or group rather than text in SharePoint.

For example let's say this Dataverse table 'Users' is your SharePoint List. Then you would filter this table like on the pictures below.

If I understand your problem correctly then your owner field refers to another List. You can get data from a related List/table by something like below:

Your comboBox Datasource would be: trackerlog

Your Gallery: Filter(People, Owner = comboBox1.Selected.Owner)

So its all in the one list, I can get what you say to work in the sense I get no errors but the combo box is empty
