Please follow the updated documentation we published yesterday and let us know if you have any question with this:
Can you explain which UI / Service is shown for Steps 6 and 8 of the Deploy instructions? I've tried the PowerPlatform, PowerApp, and PowerBI interfaces and I can't find the interface shown for those two steps.
Thanks,
Anthony
This in the CDS org portal. To get here. Use the cds org url - which is https://[myenv].crm.dynamics.com. Once you are there select advanced settings from settings (see below). This will get you to the portal to do steps 6 and 8.
How do I disable Contoso sample data from populating in PBI? Also are we able to change the look of the executive dashboard? I thought by changing the theme and adding logo (step 6) this will be reflected in the PBI as well, but it didn't. Thank you!
I presume you are talking about sample data generation. To turn off the sample data generators:
Select “Solutions” in the PowerApps portal. In the Solutions page select “Return to the Workplace” solution. In “Return to the Workplace” solution page you will see the below flows called:
Click the “more commands” (three dots) next to each of those flows, and select “Turn off”. Alternatively, you can select the flow and use the “Turn off” button at the top. Both of these flow needs to be turned off.
For Power BI report customization. You can customize the report by editing it in powerbi.com.
Currently, we support State-wise data for United States only as a shipped product. You could, however, source data from additional sources as you see fit (trusted source, conforming to the schema, etc). That is a customization at your end.
@alexanderz For the PBI embedded - When unpacking the solution there are 3 xml files, customizations, solution and content type. Which one do I need to add script to? Neither one has a sections block
Thanks!
Customizations.xml should have the sections block.
Can you make sure you follow the steps 1-5 in Step 5: Embed the Power BI report in the model-driven app? Also before exporting did you publish the changes in the new solution you created?
"Deploy" Step 5 is very lacking in detail for those who have never built/worked with embedded objects. I have done as the step explained and as you have updated (including the publish prior to explorting). However, I still think I'm missing something as well. When I try a "new facility", the "General" tab appears to try to connect to PowerBI but eventually says "this content isn't available".
Here's a screenshot of my changes to the customizations.xml file. After the changes, I have imported / published. I have inserted the "embed" XML just below the "general" <section> of the first <sections> within <FormXML>.
Thanks,
Anthony
