Power Automate Condition always defaulting to "False"

Hello,

I'm in the middle of building a sample Power Automate Flow and I'm having issues with the "Control" - "Condition." 

So far, I have used Power Automate to fill out an Excel file with responses from an MS Form:

The "TOTAL HOURS" and "TOTAL COST" columns are calculated using the "SUM" function in Excel.

Now in Power Automate, I would like to send an email to respondents based on the "Condition" of "TOTAL HOURS." In this example, if a student has greater than 9 "TOTAL HOURS," I would like to send an email telling them they're a full-time student. If a student has 9 or Less "TOTAL HOURS," I would like to send an email telling them they're a part-time student.

I am able to successfully run my Flow, but the "Condition" always defaults to "False" regardless of the value of "TOTAL HOURS":

Successful Flow: "Get that Row" has an output of "TOTAL HOURS": "12" but the "Condition" determined it was "False."

"Compose" inputs of "12" and outputs of "12."

"Initialize variable" inputs with a "value": "12"

"Condition" inputs "False."

In the "Condition" action I have entered:

• body('Get_that_row_from_Excel_with_Total_Hours_and_Total_Cost')   contains   @
• variables('Total Hours')   is greater than   greater(variables('Total Hours'),9)

(Note: I have entered the "body('Get_that_row_from_Excel_with_Total_Hours_and_Total_Cost')   contains   @" because otherwise my run fails. I chose the "@" sign because the respondent's email is also entered into a column in the Excel file.)

What do I need to do so the "Condition" can run properly without defaulting to "False" every time?

Hi @NewbiePower 

As i see the value you are getting is an string, It will always be false as you are comparing a Int value to a string value which is always false.

Better you convert that into integer and then you pass to the condition, For that you need to do is

int('Total hours')

For anyone else referencing this post for assistance, this is the new setup of my Flow that runs successfully:

My successful Flow layout

"Compose - Grabs Total Hours" inputs is the dynamic value 'TOTAL HOURS' from my "Get that row" action.

The "Initialize variable - Total Hours String" type is set to "string" and the value is the output from "Compose - Grabs Total Hours" from the dynamic values.

"Compose - String conversion to Integer" inputs is the formula "int(variables('Total Hours - String'))"

The "Condition - Total Hours is greater than 9 hours" is now set to the output of "Compose - String conversation to Integer" from my dynamic values "is greater than" "9", the value I wanted to use to compare.
