Desktop flow connection - You have a broken connection for 'Run a flow built with Power Automate for desktop'. Pleasefix connection. Alternately, you can select another valid connection or create a new connection from connections tab in the action pane.

I'm trying to create a scheduled desktop flow on power automate cloud. There is a notification regarding broken connection. I have tried to delete the old connection and create a new one, but the notification still appears and I cannot continue creating scheduled flows. What's wrong here? Yesterday I just updated Windows Home to Pro, but haven't activated it yet. Could this be one of the causes?

I tried checking the connection section and it showed the status was connected, but when creating a scheduled flow the broken connection notification always appeared when I added a desktop flow step. Here the connection has a red warning? what is the problem?

Try disabling the "New designer" toggle at the top right corner of the screen. Switch to the old designer and stick to it for now. The new one is bugged.

@Agnius I've tried turning off new designer, it still doesn't work, test connection failed appears when creating a new connection

You should use a backward slash \ instead of the forward slash / to separate the machine name and user name in the "Domain and user name" field.

@Agnius i am still facing the same problem. Test connection failed. Details: Connection failed: [Machine ca28880c-02b3-4f0e-a176-3f2a867160e3] Connection error on the machine. Machine join type: NotJoined; Username type: local account; Status: -1073741715; Details: The attempted logon is invalid.. Correlation id: 605e7643-d7e1-4fa0-95e5-5e70d6a27617.

Hi,

sometime its issue occurs you can used or write whoami on to cmd  for finding username then you can get username and then used this username and your password for doing your connection .

 and check your machine is connected to power automated run time machine .

before used it , delete your run desktop flow action and used new one.

I encountered the same issue with one of my flows. Updating my credentials to the machine settings fixed my flow.

 

  1. Click on the ellipsis for the desktop flow step.
  2. Click on the connection error under the "My Connections" section.

If you believe the domain\username and password entered are correct, and you have the require license to use RPA you will need to check the status of some services. On the target machine make sure that the UIFlowService and UIFlowAgentLauncher are running. You can find them under the 'Services' tab in 'Task Manager', but I find it easier to query this with PowerShell using the command:

     get-services  -name ui*

which would return a result like

If you see the FlowService or FlowAgent are stopped restart them

     start-service -name uiflowservice
                    and/or
     start service -name uiflowagent*

and reattempt the connection.

Summer of Solutions | Week 4 Results | Winners will be posted on July 24th

We are excited to announce the Summer of Solutions Challenge!    This challenge is kicking off on Monday, June 17th and will run for (4) weeks.  The challenge is open to all Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio & Power Pages) community members. We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.
