Approvals looping constantly

Morning

As of about an hour ago, our approval processes have started constantly looping.

Even through approvals are being sent, they are failing with a 'BadGateway' error and therefore re-sending every 2-3 minutes.

"Http request failed: the server did not respond within the timeout limit. Please see logic app limits at https://aka.ms/logic-apps-limits-and-config#http-limits."

This is resulting in lots of confusing as approvals are being sent over and over again even after users have submitted a response.

Image attached shows the same approval being sent out every few minutes.

These approval flows have been running perfectly fine for months, and this issue has only just started this morning. These flows have not been recently amended.

Is anyone else having this issue please?

Thanks!

Microsoft confirmed at 18:30 yesterday their fix was in place.

Getting the same error for the last 15 mins or so. Not sure about the duplicate tasks, no one has complained yet.

OK, can confirm that some of the approval actions did run multiple times. But it seems to be working correctly now.

Hi Jaco_Campher

Thank you for confirming!

I have just tried this on one of our other user accounts and experiencing the same issue.

Hopefully it can be sorted soon as we send out hundreds of these approvals per day 😞

Since today i have the same issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

Same issue. Using the Start and wait for approval action. The approval gets made but it keeps making them until it reaches max retries (guessing powerAutomate is not getting a success reponse for some reason?)

Have created a new flow that only contains the approval action and it's also doing it. So it must be on PowerAutomate side. Have tried changing the retry limit to none for now, just to reduce user spam

Most workflows are running fine now, but got this error on one of them:

But have one workflow before and after it that is running fine.

The same problem in our company. 😞

Hi @hiccup

I observe exactly same issue in our environment today.

Same story here.
Even the the simplest flows ("Manually trigger a flow" -> "Start and wait for an approval") keep looping.

Some of the flows fails after 5 approvals are created with following error:

Screen Shot 2023-03-27 at 15.07.04 p.m..png

While the others runs creates "just" few and keep waiting.
They all seem to have different id (you can reject and approve one after the other) and at the same time be hooked to the same passage (a flow is responsive to any approval from the batch regardless of the creation order).

Experiencing this today in our company too. Some business-critical processes are getting bogged by a multitude of failing approvals. Still happening as of the time of this post.

Getting the same issue as well... Tried creating new (simple) flows, but same issue occurs.

The same problem in my company.

When is it going to be fixed?

Is there an open incident with Microsoft?

Yes, been having the same issue since 9:30 today, logged a call with MS to investigate.

Also noticed emails were coming from Microsoft Flow, now they arrive from Microsoft Power Automate...

Getting a similar issue. Our users are getting multiple copies of approvals. I'm not getting any 'BadGateway' fails though and flows complete when someone approves any one of the many emails they get for each approval.

All on flows that have been working fine for months/years.

Like others, i've just set up a super simple test flow and the same thing happens.

same here with the approvals flows, they are sending 5 times, they are coming from Microsoft Flow <maccount@microsoft.com>, It's usually was from Microsoft Power Automate <flow-noreply@microsoft.com>

I just did a test and it seems to work fine. Is it the same for you?

I've done a couple of tests this morning and it seems to be ok at the moment.

Yes, it seems to be working fine now
