Power Automate flow updating the Created By /Modified By field in Dataverse incorrectly

Hi All,

I have a power app , where I am using data flow to do bulk upload. The user attaches a file and the click on 'upload' button - where the data flow runs and adds the new row to Dataverse table.

The flow is running correctly but the Created By/ Modified By fields in Dataverse table are showing my name instead of the user who is doing the upload.

I need to make sure that Created By/ Modified By fields in Dataverse table should show the user name instead of my name (owner). Please suggest how to resolve the issue.

Your image of your Flow shows you are creating a file in SharePoint, not Dataverse - which is it? If SharePoint, you can reference this Blog post to do what you need

I just gave it a quick test and was able to change the 'Created by' of a SP item, as per the instructions.

If you are using Dataverse, there doesn't appear to be a similar Action in Power Automate that you could leverage so you may need to create new columns to store your required data, instead of using the Custom Created by / Modified by ones.

I have the same setup for the flow , please check the snapshot below. In the Dataverse it shows my connection when I change it to Provided by run only user, it gives me error-

Error-

The issue is that the Dataverse table is not showing the created by and modified by fields correctly. I have used Add a row action for Dataverse table in the flow here-

Yes, at my knowledge, if we use Powerapps(V1) trigger, we cannot specify a specific connection.

Thanks for your response.

The flow is using the power apps uploaded file as the trigger , then creating that file in Sharepoint, doing some pricing calculations then all the data is saved in Dataverse table using the 'add a row ' action. See the screenshot-

This may be caused by insufficient permissions.

Can you contact the administrator and give you a new security role?
