I am getting an error upon submission. This is my submit button outside of the gallery orAll(
Gallery2.AllItems,
If(
!IsBlank(Radio4.Selected.Value),
Patch(
'DE Radio',
Defaults('DE Radio'),
{
Title:Namee,
Answer: Radio4.Selected.Value,
Name_:User().FullName,
Date:Today()
}
)
)
); I only want the selected radio buttons to be submitted. Namee is a text label in the gallery and its text is ThisItem.Namee, which has the name of each item I want to patch. I am getting an error that says that title is required but I have that. Additionally it is patching random radio buttons. When I do Title:Title it picks another text label ThisItem.Area why does it choose this as the title?

Well, I don't really understand then. You originally stated that the list you have in SharePoint would be a list of items that you display in the Gallery to everyone. That is all fine. But then you stated that you wanted the "progress" the users made to be saved so when they open the app again, their previous values were there.
So, if that is the case, then you have got to record everyone's results as they do them and they have to be marked with their identification.
Otherwise, you will be having everyone use the same information across all users.
If you really want to keep track of this - my suggestion would be that you have a list of the actual items in SharePoint that you want in your Gallery and then have a separate list for responses (as they go - I know you have one at the end where everything is put into another list, but I am referring to a different list that you do not have yet).
So, with this concept, when the app loads, it has all the Items in the Gallery from the GUTA list. BUT, it gets its Radio value from another list that is user based. That other list could be as simple as having three columns - userEmail (text), GUTAlistID (number), RadioValue (text) - let's call it GUTAresponses
Then, your Radio default would become: Lookup(GUTAresponses, userEmail=vUserEmail && GUTAlistID=ThisItem.ID, RadioValue)
Your OnChange formula would become:
Patch(
GUTAresponses,
Coalesce(
Lookup(GUTAresponses, userEmail=vUserEmail && GUTAlistID=ThisItem.ID),
Defaults(GUTAresponses)
),
{userEmail: vUserEmail, GUTAlistID: ThisItem.ID, RadioValue: Radio4.Selected.Value}
)
This way, as each user starts their process, the emails and records will all get added automatically.
I do caution with this as this may have other issues with the Radio button Selected.Value issue that we have discovered. But, without that issue, this would work perfectly.
@Anonymous
Yes, but the issue I see with that approach is that you are going to be generating many many new records into your list and you will quickly get to the point where you run into delegation issues and record limits.
A separate list with the record ID, the user email and the current radio value would lessen that issue.
Filter(
collGUATMasterData,
If(
IsBlank(ComboBox1.Selected.Result) || ComboBox1.Selected.Result = "All",
true,
System in ComboBox1.SelectedItems
) && If(
IsBlank(ComboBox1_2.Selected.Result) || ComboBox1_2.Selected.Result = "All",
true,
Scenario in ComboBox1_2.SelectedItems
) && If(
IsBlank(Search_.Text),
true,
Search_.Text in Namee
) && If(
IsBlank(ComboBox1_1.Selected),
true,
Radio in ComboBox1_1.SelectedItems.Value
)
) - I am using this as the filter. It is working with pulling answers in based on email, however I am noticing a strange error. It is picking a string of about 10 items setting it to works and once you scroll up and down a few times the selections disappear. I am assuming this is some sort of powerapps bug? @RandyHayes Other than that it works..
@Anonymous
Do you have a screenshot of that?
We might need to adjust the formula a little if there is some lag.
I was doing a demo and also realized it took away my first radio button selection. I have noticed this behavior in my other radio button apps too @RandyHayes
@Anonymous
Sorry on the delay...
So, sometimes when a gallery has to pull in values on lookups, the scrolling and appearance of items gets a little strange.
First, try turning off the Delay Load option in the Advanced settings.
Then, if that is not working well, we can try to move the lookups into the Gallery Items property. That usually makes things look better.
I turned off delay loading and didn't notice any change unfortunately @RandyHayes
I have also noticed that after filtering it will default back to works then go away in a few seconds @RandyHayes
@Anonymous
So we should move your lookup over into your Items formula instead of the individual lookups.
Refresh me...what does you Items formula look like these days?
